New Rochelle's Music On The Green Announces Schedule, Performers

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The BID Music on the Green series returns with four parties in downtown New Rochelle, in Ruby Dee Park on Library Green in early July and August.

In the event of rain, the concert moves indoors to the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library, on a first-come, first-served basis to the capacity of the 138-seat theater, beginning at 6:45 pm. Call 914-632-8254 for weather updates, after 4 p.m. the day of the concert. 

The schedule is as follows:

  • July 21, Zero 360: Zero 360 is a contemporary, multi-ethnic variety show and dance band that performs Motown, Soul, R&B, Funk, Old School Disco, Dance, and Rock. Zero 360 members have performed around the world with artist such as Stevie Wonder, Melba Moore, Dr. John, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Roy Hargrove, Peter Erskine, Jack Wilkins and Ben Vereen, Chuck Jackson, Lea Roberts, Millie Jackson, Domenick Allen, Susan Anton, Charo and more. 
  • July 28, Eli Fountain with Baba Don and Equinox: Detroit native, and son of legendary Motown saxophonist, Eli Fountain, percussionist Eli Fountain is bringing to the series an ensemble of New York musicians and a smooth jazz sound. Eli has performed with The Temptations, Whitney Houston, Peabo Bryson, and many more. Max Roach, Geri Allen, James Carter, Sam Rivers, Lena Horne, Butch Morris, and Aretha Franklin. 
  • Aug. 4, Nanny Assis Trio: Percussionist Nanny Assis will bring the sounds of Samba, Bossa-Nova, Baiao, and Brazilian Jazz standards to New Rochelle. Named “Best Male Brazilian Performer” by 2010 Brazilian Press Awards, Nanny Assis returns to Library Green.
  • Aug. 11, Los Hacheros: Since 2011, Los Hacheros a band of 5 musicians have utilized unique instrumentation to draw on charanga and salsa and create a sound of their own.
