The New Rochelle school announced on Oct. 1 that proceeds from its fourth annual Monroe Miles 5K run/walk will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle. The race will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the courtyard at Monroe’s Main Hall, 424 Main St. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and loops runners around downtown before ending at Gaddy’s Hall, 380 Main St.

Organizers ask participants to register online before race day. The first 300 people to check in on the morning of the run receive race-themed T-shirts. Cost is $15, free for those 12 and younger.

"We are honored to host this year's Monroe Miles in support of the Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle, which has done so much to help the children and teens of New Rochelle over the last 85 years," Monroe College President Stephen Jerome said in a statement. "We have an amazing schedule of community events planned that weekend, and this will certainly be one of the highlights."
