From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, the Leslie Pintchik Trio returns to Alvin & Friends Restaurant's main dining room. The jazz pianist and composer has performed with bassist Scott Hardy and drummer Michael Sarin in jazz venues around New York, including The Blue Note. Downbeat Magazine called her music “fresh, full of light and instantly invigorating.” the main dining room. No cover. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18 the effervescent Judi Marie Cantarino returns to the main dining room to celebrate her birthday with music. A former co-owner of the legendary Half Note (home to such jazz notables as Tony Bennett and Anita O’Day), Judi Marie has performed at jazz and swing venues throughout the New York area. No cover charge, but tables are reserved for diners and there is a two-drink minimum at the bar. On Friday, Dec. 19, Rocky Middleton and his Sextet play two shows in Roscoe’s Room, 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.; $20 cover charge. Call 654-6549 to reserve a seat. On Wednesday, Dec. 31 celebrate New Year’s Eve at Alvin & Friends Restaurant. Ring in the New Year in style with a specially-created chef’s menu and live music. Choose the early seating (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) featuring a four-course menu and live music for $80 per person, inclusive, or the black-tie-optional late seating (8:30 p.m.) with a five-course menu and dancing to the Chip Shelton Band for $125 per person, inclusive. Accomplished jazz flutist and saxophonist Shelton (who also plays clarinet, percussion, piano) has performed at New York City venues including the Cellar, Birdland, the Five Spot and other clubs.
