New Rochelle's Alvin & Friends Announces Early-December Programming

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Alvin & Friends has an exciting slate of performers scheduled for early December.

A rundown of December events is below.

On Thursday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 12 young jazz vocalist and flutist Alex Hamburger and guitarist Andrew Latona will perform in the main dining room from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. No cover charge, but tables are reserved for diners and there is a two-drink minimum at the bar. On Friday, Dec. 5 the duo Acute Inflections will perform in the main dining room from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. No cover charge, but tables are reserved for diners and there is a two-drink minimum at the bar. Acute Inflections consists of an innovative vocalist, Elasea Douglas, and a captivating upright bassist, Sadiki Pierre, lifelong friends whose artistic collaboration delivers an intoxicatingly jazzy, funky and sultry sound. On Friday, Dec. 5 jazz vocalist Glenda Davenport returns to Roscoe’s Room with the Hiroshi Yamazaki Trio. Glenda Davenport, discovered at the World Famous Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night, has performed in such legendary venues as The Village Gate, Birdland and Caramoor. She performs regularly at jazz clubs throughout the tri-state area, and has recorded two CDs: “Sophisticated Lady” and “More Than You Know." Two shows, 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; $10 cover charge. On Saturday, Dec. 6 Rocky Middleton will perform in the main dining room, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. No cover charge, but tables are reserved for diners and there is a two-drink minimum at the bar. On Thursday, Dec. 11 the Bob Stewart Quartet returns. Now in its third year, Bob, his rhythm section and sax player cover jazz standards, ballads, r & b favorites and pop with a sound that's as professional as it is entertaining. 6:30 to 9:30 in the main dining room; No cover charge. 

On Friday, Dec. 12, G&J continues their monthly jazz series with Johnny O’Neal, one of jazz music’s legendary figures because of his profound musicality and engaging persona.
