The 2-mile walk is a family-friendly event that takes place in communities nationwide to pay for food allergy research, education, advocacy and awareness.
Registration begins at 1 p.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 2 p.m. The walk will begin immediately following the ceremony.
The Westchester Walk is aiming to raise $230,000, which is one of the highest goals in the nation among the FARE walks.
WABC-7 chief meteorologist Lee Goldberg will emcee the event. Dr. Hugh Sampson of Mount Sinai Hospital is the walk's honored guest and speaker. Dr. Jennifer Kim of Mount Sinai Hospital is the event's honorary medical chair.
Each adult participant who raises $100 or more, will receive the official walk day T-shirt. All children registered and attending the walk will receive a shirt.
The Food Allergy Walk in Westchester is a food allergy-friendly, not food allergy-free event. Attendees are reminded to read all labels and take samples home to enjoy.
The walk will go on rain or shine.
