The "New Rochelle Relay For Life" event starts at 7 p.m. at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle. Relays are held in more than 6,000 communities worldwide, and in 2013, the Westchester region raised more than $1.4 million for research, education programs and patient services through Relay For Life, according to a press release.
"Relay For Life is more than a fund-raising event: it is a worldwide movement to end cancer. Relay represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. It’s more important than ever that we continue to invest in this fight," representatives said. "Whether you are a cancer survivor yourself, a family member or friend of a survivor, or someone who simply wants to show support for this important cause, you can be a part of this life-affirming event."
