During her lifetime, Dee acted on stage, television, film and radio, and she was also a producer, journalist, poet and writer. She married actor Ossie Davis in 1948 and was his wife until he died in 2005.
Some of her friends and family will attend the open-to-the-public film festival to celebrate her life. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, Oct. 4 – 6:30-8:30 p.m.: Film showing – “Naming No. 2.”
- Sunday, Oct. 5 – 1:30 p.m.: Screening – Clips of “With Ossie & Ruby”; 3:30 p.m.: Film showing – “Hands Upon the Heart”; 6 p.m.: Second viewing – “Naming No. 2”
