Students are encouraged to capture the New Rochelle Library's magic in a 60-90 second short. The contest is open to New Rochelle students in grades nine through 12 and features first, second and third prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250, respectively.

The deadline for submissions is Sept. 7 at midnight. The winning videos will be screened and prizes will be awarded at the Ossie Davis Theater on Oct. 11. The foundation and library websites will also show the winning videos.

The library will hold three video-making workshops this summer.
