New Rochelle Library's Weekend Events Include Musical Entertainment

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The New Rochelle Library is hosting "Thanks for the Memories: A Celebration of Favorite Composers, Singers and Songs" with Eric Jennings on Saturday from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Join Jennings and friends for a look back and farewell celebration of the many years of programs he has given in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater. Soprano Geraldine McMillian will sing some of her favorites. The library-sponsored group, Sing Your Heart Out, will also perform with Jennings at the piano. The special concert will include music by Gershwin, Porter, Sondheim, Friedman, Herman and many others. Suggested donation is $2.

“A Classical Evening” will be held Saturday from 5-6 p.m. Enjoy a concert performed by talented musicians completing graduate studies in musical performance. New Rochelle High School graduates Sarah Kenner on violin (Manhattan School of Music) and Morgan Pappas on flute (CUNY's Aaron Copland School of Music) will be joined by Greg Dibona on piano (Manhattan School of Music.) The ensemble's program includes works by Corelli, Amirov, Gaubert, and Ravel. Suggested donation is $2.
