The library will hold a family reading workshop, “Exploring African-American Traditions & Experiences through Picture Books,” on three Wednesdays – Jan. 28, Feb.11 and 25 – at 6:15 p.m.

Barnard School social worker Vicki Rashbaum will lead the parental discussion in the library's Meeting Room, while children (pre-K through fifth grade only) will read the stories in the library's Children's Room. Refreshments will be served.

The sessions are free, but registration is required as space is limited. Call 914-813-3706 to register. Attendance at all three sessions isn't required.

The library's Lumen Winter Gallery is also currently hosting an exhibition, “Captured in Cloth: Fabric Collages of Leni Wiener,” until Saturday, Feb. 7.

Wiener's work features photo-inspired fabric collages of captured moments in time, which trips the viewer's imagination, celebrating rich stories and colorful personalities.

The library is at 1 Library Plaza in New Rochelle, and more information can be found online at www.nrpl.org
