A rundown of events is below.
Sunday, Sept. 28
- Join The Three Garridebs for their third annual film festival celebrating Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John H. Watson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The program will include the 1920 silent film, "Sherlock Holmes," starring John Barrymore and the 1939 film, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," starring Basil Rathbone. The film festival will be held at 3 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5
- The library joins the New Rochelle Council on the Arts in presenting the internationally acclaimed trio The Villalobos Brothers. These virtuoso violinists, singer-songwriters, composers, arrangers and multitalented instrumentalists will perform a free concert on Library Green.
- A memorial tribute to activist and New Rochelle contributor Ruby Dee will be held in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. The public is invited to join Dee's family and local friends for a free, two-day film festival celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman. The memorial will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
- The library will present two special programs for Italian Heritage and Culture Month. "The Calitrani Immigrants of America" will be the topic of a free talk by historian Mario Toglia at 2 p.m. Toglia is the author of a book on the immigrants from Calitri, a province of Avellino, Italy, which was the result of his personal quest to discover his ancestors.
Saturday, Oct. 18
- A live musical performance, "Vincent Ricciardi Sings Mario Lanza & Caruso too!" will be performed at 3 p.m.
