New Rochelle Library Hosts Jazz Singer Davenport

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The New Rochelle Public Library will host Glenda Davenport and the Hiroshi Yamazaki Trio on Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m. in the Ossie Davis Theater.

Back by popular demand, vocalist Davenport returns for a concert of jazz standards. Davenport will be accompanied by the top-flight musicians of the Hiroshi Yamazaki Trio. Discovered at the World Famous Apollo Theater's Amateur Night, Davenport has sung in such legendary venues as The Village Gate, Birdland and Caramoor. She performs regularly at jazz clubs throughout the tristate area and has recorded two albums, "Sophisticated Lady" and "More Than You Know." A donation of $2 is suggested at the door.

The New Rochelle Library is at 1 Library Plaza.
