The event will include a large array of quality used books, from popular novels and mysteries in hardcover and paperback, nonfiction in hardcover and paperback, to children's books, CDs, and DVDs, will be available for purchase at very affordable prices.
The executive board of the Friends of the Library coordinates the book sales, with the assistance of other Friends' volunteers. Money raised from book sales are used to underwrite the library's extensive public programs.
Residents might also want to attend the Byzantine Echoes to the Ottoman Makam concert Sunday at 4 p.m.
Attendees will be treated to a musical journey of Byzantine chant and Ottoman and Turkish classical music performed by Eleftherios Eleftheriadis and Georgios Theodoridis, accompanied by an ensemble of instrumentalists.
A reception will follow the concert. The free concert is made possible by the Axion Estin Foundation and a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.
