“How to Think Like a Designer” is the topic of a free, illustrated presentation at 7 p.m. in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, according to a press release.

"Designers apply aspects of visual art (drawing, sculpture, color, and composition) to useful things, from logos and fonts to products, furniture, and buildings," representatives said in the release. "Designers use their talent to solve problems, promote products, and educate people. Design combines elements of art, craft, engineering, writing, and business."

Writer, curator and graphic designer Ellen Lupton will show the audience "how designers think" and will also introduce the audience to types of products and media from contemporary designers, according to the release.

The program is made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library and is presented in conjunction with the New Rochelle Art Association and the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, according to the release.
