New Rochelle Gallery Exhibits Work Of Australian Artist

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle-based transFORM Gallery announced that its summer art exhibit would be a retrospective of Alexander Rutsch's work, beginning on Saturday, June 13.

The exhibit will be open to the public at 9 a.m., and run until Aug. 30.

The Australian artist was very highly regarded, as his work ended up in the private collections of certain luminaries like Walter Cronkite, Salvador Dali, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis.

Major museums like Belgium’s Museum of Liège, Paris’s Musée d’Art Moderne, New York’s Museum of Modern Art also hold examples of Rutsch's work.

There will be an opening reception on the evening of June 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. It will include food and entertainment, along with music from Eric Katz and Charlie Ryner.

The New Rochelle branch of the transFORM Gallery is located at 20 Jones St.. Daily hours are at 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
