NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) is looking for new entries for the "What's New?" exhibition.

The exhibition is set to feature works from member artists and will be on view at the New Rochelle Public Library's Lumen Winter Gallery from March 1-29.

The annual Members Variety Showcase and Reception is set for 3 p.m., March 9 at the New Rochelle Public Library’s Ossie Davis Theater.

The event, which honors Thea Eichler, NRCA founder and past president, will feature a range of artistic performances by members of NRCA as well as friends and family of The Eichler. Both events are free and open to the public.

"Thea Eichler has been active in the cultural life of New Rochelle for over thirty years," representatives said. "As the Program Chair of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, she was the creative force behind years of themed art shows, concerts, special events and exhibits that highlighted the historical role New Rochelle played in contributing to the arts. Thea also was the co-founder in 1979 of the New Rochelle Chorale, now known as the Sound Shore Chorale. She continues to serve NRCA as Member Emeritus."

Only members of NRCA may submit works for consideration for the exhibition.

All work submitted must be original, in any media and completed within the last year. Only 2-D and 3-D work, ready to hang, will be accepted. Artists are asked to notify NRCA of their interest by Feb. 17 and submit their entries by Wednesday, Feb. 26. There is no entry fee. For a complete prospectus, visit the NRCA website.
