NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority held an historic ribbon cutting and street renaming celebration on Sept. 21.
The ribbon-cutting commemorated Heritage Homes opening of 131 new affordable apartments and townhouse style apartments at the Heritage Homes Ribbon Cutting Carnival.
“I thought it important, that residents from all corners of New Rochelle come together to witness first-hand the renaissance and more importantly the reconnection of the vital community that makes up the wonderful diverse fabric of New Rochelle,” said a spokesperson from Macquesten Development in a statement. The construction company underwrote the event.
This revitalization project -- the result of 10 years of effort and planning -- is happening in three phases. Once complete the new Heritage Homes will replace the Robert Hartley Houses.
