In addition to local, farm fresh products and gourmet items, families can catch activities and performances for the children. The BID Farmers Market will host the following programs:
- Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Help Chef Giovanni Green at A Food Demonstration Inspired by Children’s Books.
- Sept. 12, at 11 a.m.: Children's musician Zev Haber returns to the BID Farmers Market. In the event of rain, the free performance will be held in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater.
- Sept. 19, at 11 a.m.: Nora Maher will hand-craft balloon creations for each child at Balloon Bonanza.
- Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: At Adventure in Architecture, educators from ArchForKids inspire and guide participants in making their own dream house, skyscraper or other structure. In the event of rain, the activity will be moved to the library’s Meeting Room.
- Oct. 3, at 11 a.m.: Juggles the Clown.
- Oct.10 at 11 a.m.: Children’s Performer Kurt Gallagher will bring lots of audience participation to this musical show. In the event of rain, the free performance will instead take place in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater.
- Oct. 17 at 11 a.m.: Children’s Performer Louie Miranda. In the event of rain, the free performance will instead take place in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater.
- Oct. 24, 10 to 11:30 a.m.: The BID Family Fun Fall Festival - Window Painting and Mask Making. Families must pre-register in order to paint a window by emailing ngainor@newrochelleny.com or by calling (914)-654-2116.
- Oct. 31, at 9:45 a.m. : The BID Family Fun Fall Festival’s Costume Parade begins at New Street, New Roc City (in front of Regal Cinema) and ends at Library Green Park. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled and pumpkin painting will take place in the library’s meeting room instead.
