Children of all ages will be clapping, shaking, spinning, stomping and singing while musician Kurt Gallagher performs on his guitar, ukulele, slide whistle, lumberjack puppets and other musically silly stuff. There will be plenty of audience participation.
BID Family Market Days are a partnership between the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District, Public Schools, Parks and Recreation Department and the Public Library.
The New Rochelle BID’s Downtown Farmers Market is a weekly Saturday morning farmer’s market, plus. It features dozens of traditional farmers’ market food vendors offering produce as well as prepared and specialty foods, meats, fish, breads, baked goods, cheese, pickles, New York state wines and micro-brews.
Visitors will also find food-related services, such as knife sharpening, and unique artisanal products like soap, flavored oils and custom-blended spices. The hungry and the harried can shop and also dine alfresco on foods offered by downtown restaurants and specialty food carts.
Beyond the fine fare, the Farmers Market offers networking opportunities for community groups, plus free music, children’s entertainment and educational cooking and gardening seminars and demonstrations.
The New Rochelle Library is at 1 Library Plaza.
In the event of rain, Gallagher's performance will take place in the library's Ossie Davis Theater.
