NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Public Library will feature music and dance from the Middle East to kick off its 29th annual International Music and Dance Series. This family-oriented, all-ages event is free and will take place at 6:45 p.m. July 24.
Traditional dances originating in the Middle East will be taught by Aszmara, an internationally renown Oriental dancer and local belly dancer. Armenian, Turkish and Arabic traditional music and costumed dance will be performed by Armenian musicians Haig Manoukian on the oud, Souren Baronain on G-clarinet and Mal Stein on dumbek.
Admission is limited to the capacity of the Ossie Davis Theater on a first-come, first-served basis.
