Rivera greeted fans and handed out copies of his book “The Closer” on May 28 at the New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, N.Y.

Friends of the New Rochelle Library will use proceeds from the event to help start their campaign to build a custom-designed facility in the east end of the library’s lobby. The expansion allows the organization to streamline its volunteer operations and receive and sell more gently-used books. Those proceeds support the library’s extensive, diverse programming and special projects.
