The exhibit honors New Rochelle residents who gave their lives in the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the War in Afghanistan, and includes the names of all the heroes and many of their photographs.

There will be a special viewing of the exhibit on Monday, May 30, immediately following the Memorial Day ceremonies at Memorial Plaza, which will begin at 10 a.m. The public may enter the library’s Memorial Highway entrance to see the exhibit on view in the library’s lobby.

The library will otherwise be closed on Sunday, May 29 and Monday, May 30.

The exhibit was assembled by Eugene Longhi, historian for American Legion Post 8, working in conjunction with Barbara Davis, city historian, and library staff and volunteers.

The exhibit panels were designed by Jesse Sanchez, and were made possible by a grant from the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library.
