Nichols Fire Does Cold-Water Rescue Training At Trumbull's Pinewood Lake

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Members of the Nichols Fire Department trained Saturday at Pinewood Lake to hone their cold-water rescue techniques.

Firefighters went over safety procedures and hand signals and inspected the gear before going into the lake. They also went over the operation of a rescue sled.

Members took turns going into the icy water in cold -water suits to rescue another in "distress."
