NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Iona College and the Thomas Paine National Historical Association host national and international scholars during the International Thomas Paine Conference Friday and Saturday.
Historians will present 32 papers in 12 sessions and participate in discussions about life, legacy and United States founding father Thomas Paine during the public event.
Friday’s schedule begins at 8 a.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. in the Romita Auditorium of Iona College’s Ryan Library. The event’s second day, Saturday, begins at 9:15 a.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m. in the same location.
Lewis Lapham, former editor of Harper’s Magazine, will give the event’s keynote address.
