She appears on the episode about the Philadelphia auditions. Byrne is a singer/artist working on an album and has just released the song “Alive,” which can be found at on her website.

The 26-year-old Bergen County native grew up in Waldwick and attended Immaculate Heart Academy and Ramapo College. She is the oldest of four and has been singing since she was very little, though she said she did not become comfortable with singing in front of other people until she was in college.

This is the final season of American Idol and she said she was thrilled to be a part of it.

"The experience was incredible," she said. "It's definitely not for the faint of heart though. It was wild being able to participate in a show that I’ve been watching since I was 12.

"The best part of the experience was the people I met. They were from all over the country, and came from every background. We all stay in touch on Facebook. My closest friends live across the country though. My roommate was from California and another close friend is from Utah.”

Byrne is just starting her career and has plans to perform in New York City. She said having the platform of performing on television makes people perk up and pay attention to her music.

"It brings on a lot of new fans who are excited to follow your journey from small town open mics to national television,” she said.

Regarding this being the final American Idol season, she said she will really miss it as it "was the first show that really gave singers the chance to be in the big league. "
