Roy 'Darchie, Dread' Darcheville, 55, Of Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Roy "Darchie, Dread" Darcheville, a Peekskill resident for 36 years, died May 7. He was 55.

Darcheville was born in the West Indies on April 11, 1960.

He ran the Royal House Taxi in Peekskill and playing the bass and keyboard with local bands.

He is survived by his wife, Heather (Fairweather) Darcheville, two sons; Bashiri Heckstall and his wife Quanessa, and Omari Darcheville, a brother Keith Iton, two sisters; Mavis English and her husband, Geoffrey, Cecelia Linley and her husband, Alphonso, two grandchildren; Bashiri, Jr. and Bailey Heckstall, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 14.

Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church, located at Main Street in Peekskill, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
