The Nature Center celebration starts at 11 a.m. at 99 Dromore Road. The day's events include building rain barrels, classes on composting, tree planting, garden preparations and a new book discussion with local author Marcie Chambers Cuff.
"Join us for an Earth Day Celebration where you can roll up your sleeves and make a difference," representatives said. "In addition, in honor of our '1 Camera, 2 Hours Exhibit,' bring us your plastic shopping bags. We are creating an outdoor community exhibit and want you to be part of our creative conservation piece."
Most of the day’s activities are free and open to all. Visit the Greenburgh Nature Center website or call 914-723-3470 for a full listing of events.
"The mission of the Greenburgh Nature Center is to offer inspiring, hands-on environmental education experiences, to foster an appreciation of nature, and to promote sustainable practices," representatives said.
