Verille, Former Rye Beautician, Dies at 83

RYE, N.Y. - Mildred P. Verille, a longtime Rye resident, died Dec. 23 in Riverdale after a long illness. She was 83.

She was born Aug. 1, 1928 in Port Chester to Charles and Victoria Carpentieri. Verille spent her early childhood living on Fox Island Road in Port Chester with her three brothers and sisters before moving to Rye.

After graduating from Port Chester High School, she worked as a beautician for 25 years. On Nov. 23, 1953, she married her husband Paul and was a homemaker for 25 years. 

Devoted to her family, Verille enjoyed attending her children's sporting events and acting as a caregiver. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, baking and the NY Yankees.

She is survived by her husband Paul, her sons Steve, Richard and Mark, daughters-in-law Kerry and Marcia and eight grandchildren.

Arrangements will be held at Graham Funeral Home in Rye on Friday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Resurrection Church in Rye, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
