Free Dance Performances On New Rochelle Library Green

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle Council on the Arts will hold Dance En Plein Air, a series of free dance demonstrations and lessons, on Ruby Dee Park at Library Green Saturdays at 1 p.m. this summer.

“The idea is to remind everybody how the arts enrich our daily lives with a series of unexpected pop up performances in public spaces all around New Rochelle,” says NRCA President Theresa Kump Leghorn. Dance En Plein Air is part of Arts Encounters, a year-long series of events celebrating the NRCA's 40th anniversary.

Scheduled performances include the following:

  • June 27: Coleman Teen Dance Company, directed by Christine Coleman
  • July 4: No dance performance
  • July 11: Coleman Dance School, directed by Jenny and Christine Coleman
  • July 18: New Beginnings Performing Arts Company directed by Kyra Johnson
  • July 25: Dance Connection directed by Linda Andrews
  • Aug. 1: Mayte Vicens Dance Theater Latin Dance Blast
  • Aug. 8: Rooftop Rhythms Dance School
  • Aug. 15: Rooftop Rhythms Dance School
  • Aug. 22: New Beginnings Performing Arts Company directed by Kyra Johnson
  • Aug. 29: Coleman School of Dance directed by Jenny and Christine Coleman
