The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Thomas J. Burke Lounge of Spellman Hall.

Greenburg will lead a discussion on content creation and monetization in sports and entertainment media. He will do so in the context of discussing three of his best known works:

  • “Miracle” — starring Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks, head coach for the 1980 Olympic Gold Medal winning men’s hockey team. Released theatrically in February 2004, the film was labeled by critics as the first great movie of the year. Greenburg served as executive producer of the film. See a scene from the “Miracle.”
  • “61*” — Greenburg teamed up with Bill Crystal to produce the film in spring 2001. It featured the story of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle and their race to break Babe Ruth's single-season home run record. See a scene from “61*”.
  • “Hard Knocks” — the first-ever sports reality series developed at HBO where Greenburg and his team joined forces with NFL Films to produce “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Baltimore Ravens” in 2001. The high-profile New York Jets and Rex Ryan were featured in the 2010 edition. See a scene from the “Hard Knocks.”

During the presentation, Greenburg also will be honored as a Hagan Fellow. Those interested in attending should RSVP to Jasmin Bayla at jbayla@iona.edu by Monday, April 18. This event is free and open to the public.

In the fall, Greenburg will be teaching The Business and Management of Content Creation at the college.
