Doctorow’s music has been described as ranging from Western-themed folk to alternative country music. She has recorded 10 solo albums and performed on dozens of others.
Her show at CNR will feature appearances by Grammy-winning artist Julie Gold as well as Hugh Prestwood, a Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame member and Amelia Ellis, a CNR alumna who has performed throughout New York City at venues such as the Path Café.
The performance will be taped for Doctorow’s radio program and will air this fall on 89.5 FM WPKN.
Doctorow visited the college last year to accept an award on behalf of her father, New Rochelle author and recipient of the National Humanities Medal, E.L. Doctorow, when the college honored him and the City of New Rochelle by performing the play "Ragtime," based on his novel.
Admission to the concert is free for anyone with a CNR ID and $15 for the public. A meet-the-performers reception will take place after the show.
