County Legislator Readies For Annual 'Toys For Tots' Drive In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Westchester County Legislator Jim Maisano is gearing up to once again help his hometown New Rochelle get into the holiday spirit at his annual Toys for Tots event.

For more than a decade, Maisano, a Marine Corps veteran, and his family team with the Westchester Marine Corps League and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve around the holidays to assist some of the most disenfranchised members of the community.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Dudley’s on Hudson Park Road, the Maisano family will host the popular Toys for Tots fundraising event, where locals are encouraged to drop off new unwrapped toys, gift cards or checks made out to “Toys for Tots.”

The presents will later be distributed to children throughout Westchester, including the annual, sizable donation to Hope Community Services in New Rochelle.

“This is my family’s favorite day of the year. It really represents the true meaning of Christmas,” Maisano said during the event last year. “We are only successful because of the support of so many kind people, We will help a lot of kids in need to have a better holiday this year.’
