Boys & Girls Club Entices New Supporters With Tennis Challenges

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Tennis enthusiasts can now “Rally for Children” and support the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle by participating in the organization’s single largest fundraising event on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle has announced the introduction of a Tennis Challenge component to its golf outing. The event will be held at the renowned Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle. 

The event brings together Club supporters, community leaders, and business professionals for a great day that benefits a worthwhile cause and nearly 2,000 children each year.

This fun-filled fundraiser offers gifts for all participants, prizes for top players, a gourmet barbecue lunch, silent auction of goods/services and admission to the evening’s awards reception.

At this year’s event the following will be recognized for their dedication and commitment to the community and support of charitable organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle: • John A. Verni – 2014 Man of the Year Award Recipient • The Fosina Family – 2014 Service to Youth Award Recipients • Susan Varsames, M.A.Ed – 2014 Woman of the Year Award Recipient Funds raised through the event enable the Club to continue offering high quality programs.  “I’m thrilled to see the evolution of our annual golf outing to now include a tennis challenge,” said Quay Watkins, executive director for the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. “Adding this component enables even more people a chance to come out in support of the Club and its kids."

The cost for individual golfers is $450 and a golf foursome is available for $1,800.
