The “Summer in the City” event will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Beckwith Pointe, 700 Davenport Ave., New Rochelle.

Every year, the New Rochelle Youth Bureau offers approximately 100 people between the ages of 14-21 the opportunity for meaningful summer employment.

“Each year, our primary goal is to increase the number of youth hired through our fundraising efforts,” Lionel Oliver and Joel Fridovich, co-chairmen of the Youth Bureau’s board of commissioners, said in a press release. “Through the youth bureau, we have managed to maintain a high level of quality in all our programs, especially summer youth employment. The value of a good employment experience for a youth is not only measured in numbers but in the successful futures they manage to attain.”

The program cost per student is $1,000, which is supported through grants, donations and the upcoming fundraising event.

“Summer in the City” will feature an evening of food, music, dancing, raffles, and other opportunities for networking and entertainment.

Tickets are $50 per person.
