New Rochelle YMCA Seeks Swimming Program Instructors

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle YMCA is looking to fill several positions on its swimming program.

The YMCA is looking for lifeguards to provide safety to patrons and develop meaningful relationships with members and camp participants. 

Candidates must have a proactive work style and be rescue ready at all times. Lifeguards must be prepared to participate in regular, monthly in-service training sessions to maintain high safety standards at all times. 

Candidates must hold current certifications in American Red Cross lifeguarding and first aid/CPR/AED. Lifeguards must have availability and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. 

The Y is also hiring swim instructors to teach swim lessons for children and adults of all ages. Candidates must enjoy working with children and adults and must have experience teaching swim lessons. Instructors must be prepared to engage children and adults during all swim lessons and serve as role models in our community. While certification is not required, candidates holding an American Red Cross WSI certification or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification are preferred. 

Aquacise instructors are also being hired. The YMCA is looking for motivating, enthusiastic instructors to teach aquacise classes in the indoor pool to adults. Candidates must have experience teaching in the pool and have a valid Group Fitness certification from a major organization, such as ACE, AFFA or YMCA. In addition, an aqua certification is preferred, and experience teaching aqua classes is a must. Applicants are needed for shallow water aquacise classes and/or deep water jog classes.
