NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Seven executive board members as well as seven Board of Director members were inducted into the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce by city court Judge Susan Kettner on Wednesday.
The organization’s annual induction ceremony is an opportunity for it to grow by adding new individuals, Executive Director Eli Gordon said.
“It enriches the organization by bringing new members in that all bring more dynamic to the organization,” Gordon said. The ceremony and barbecue was held at Five Islands Park.
Incoming President Rosemary McLaughlin, who replaces Cynthia Lobo, praised the current state of the Chamber of Commerce.
“The chamber is doing very well right now,” said McLaughlin. “We’re on good financial footing, and have a good executive director who is developing programming for our new members."
New members are nominated each year after receiving a recommendation from someone of their choosing. Any chamber member in good standing can also be considered for nomination after five current chamber members recommend them.
The chamber has more than 750 members along with the board of directors and executive board from throughout New Rochelle.
The chamber's next event will be a networking evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 14 at the Residence Inn by Marriott. The guest speaker will be Ronald J. Volper, managing director of Ron Volper Group Inc.
