The legendary Post Wine & Spirits at 2112 Boston Post Rd. in Larchmont, is under new ownership and to celebrate, will have a grand re-opening on Saturday, Sept. 16.

And yes, folks, that means tastings, starting with champagne at noon, gin and vodka at 1 p.m., Qui Tequila at 3 p.m. and a host of rum, Pinot Blanc and LaMaiaLina Gertrue Toscana at 3:30 p.m.

New Owners Jake Lambertson and Leslie Bell are proud of the fact that their shop has been open continuously since 1933 (it opened 14 days after Prohibition).

To honor its history, they've made some changes and redecorated to match the store's 1930s vibe.

Customers will now find a speakeasy for wine and spirits tasting in the basement (where the original owner used to moonshine during Prohibition including -- as the story goes -- for John Kennedy Senior).

"It's why the shop was one of the first 200 liquor licenses issued in New York State," said Bell.

Also new: a host of New York craft spirits producers as well as more New York wineries and a focus on boutique producers from France Italy California and Spain.

Go to www.postwineonline.com for more information. The ribbon-cutting with Mayor Lorraine Walsh will be at 11:30 a.m.
