NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - With October representing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a New Rochelle-based business is supporting the fight and search for a cure.
HydroChic Swim and Active Wear - which has locations around the globe - has announced that in an effort to support the fight against breast cancer, a portion of their proceeds this month with be donated to Sharsharet, a not-for-profit organization that helps young women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage.
Since its founding in 2001, Sharsheret has responded to nearly 50,000 breast cancer inquiries, involved 3,800 peer supporters and has presented educational programs throughout the country. The organization has also been named a recipient of the New York State Innovation in Breast Cancer Early Detection and Research Award and was selected as a member of the Livestrong Young Adult Alliance.
According to HydroChic co-founder Sara Wolf, aside from donating proceeds from the business this month, her organization will be giving away fitness trackers each week in October. HydroChic is also offering all of their swim wear with a “mastectomy option.”
“HydroChic is committed to helping women of all shapes and sizes look and feel their best by offering fashionable and functional swim and active wear options for busy lifestyles,” she said. “We want to empower women to take care of themselves.
“By supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HydroChic offers a reminder for women to get their first or annual breast exam, as well as the opportunity to be involved in the battle against the disease year-round.”
